ACTING TRAINING:

SCREEN ACTING COURSES with industry professionals Casting Directors Rachel Bullock and Liz Mullane.

Liz and Rachel run one day classes in both Auckland & Wellington throughout the year.

You have the opportunity to ask questions and gain first-hand information on how the industry works from two people who have each worked in the business for 30+ years, and who are still currently working in the industry. Liz is a recent member of Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences – The Oscars

BEGINNERS - For ages 17 and over.
The audition process from beginning to end: Learn how casting is approached to how actors are selected for auditions. Explore what auditioning and acting for screen is all about and what professionals expect. How stage acting differs to screen acting – how to adapt. Performance tips: How to maximise your chances in the room by understanding the expectations of the casting director and the process. Character development, improvisation & script analysis including self taping, & cold reading technique.

ADVANCED - For ages 17 and over.
This is an advanced course for actors who want to hone their craft and increase their opportunities. You will be given two scenes to learn in advance and will be directed and critiqued on camera. You will be given honest and practical feedback, and a unique insight into how to stay focussed and inspired in an unpredictable and often unforgiving industry. We will also discuss performance technique and industry expectations.

CHILDREN & TEENS
These courses are run in school holidays a few times per year and are invaluable for budding young Actors.

ACTION TRAINING:

NZSSCS - The New Zealand Stage and Screen Combat School

Founded by Alexander James Holloway, The New Zealand Stage and Screen Combat School (NZSSCS) aims to deliver top quality training to performers and stage combat enthusiasts alike. NZSSCS offers a wide variety of adult and child classes for all skill levels. These classes are split into different weapon systems and taught term by term for one hour a week. Students learn how to use their chosen weapon safely, execute choreography and work together to portray a realistic fights for both stage and screen settings.

 Andy Stehlin International fight choreographer, Guild stuntman/Co-ordinator/Choreographer and Actor from such productions as The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies, Rings of Power, Hacksaw Ridge, Spartacus, 30 Days of Night, (and that's just the tip of the iceberg) is offering a unique opportunity to access his Film Fighting programme developed over his 27 years experience in the film industry.
On this course Andrew will train prospective and seasoned stunt performers, Actors and Talent to an Industry Standard Level of Combat readiness for basic film-set action so you can be ready and really enjoy those moments of being thrown in the deep end.
This Advanced Sword workshop is a day long, which equips students with skills and confidence in fighting for camera.
Andy will cover hand-hand combat, sells, footwork, controlled movements, timing, safety andspatial awareness.
This one day workshop strictly limited to 24 participants is designed to equip talent with the ability and the confidence to fully participate on set, we advise registering fast to guarantee your place.
